Skoda’s flagship Superb has won many a competition in its class, since launch. It received a comprehensive update in 2008 but still doesn’t look dated. Now, Skoda has unveiled the face-lifted Superb. So, what’s changed? The new Superb well gets new headlamps, the updated company logo and a refreshed grille. From the sides, it looks the same as before while at the rear, Audi A4 influences can be clearly seen from the tail lamp design.
The interior changes are far more substantial with a new colour theme, a 4-spoke steering wheel and new gearlever. It also gets the park assist system from the Passat while borrowed from the smaller Rapid is the ‘push your front passenger’s seat forward’ from the rear feature. As far as engines are concerned, Skoda will persist with the current lot for the Indian market while the EU gets a new 125PS 1.4-litre TSI.
The biggest question. When is the Indian launch? As of now, there is no confirmation from Skoda but we expect the company to launch it soon after the new Octavia.
