2013 New York Auto Show – Audi A3 sedan 2014

Audi has gone ahead and unveiled the A3 sedan at the New York Auto Show. The German is leaving no stones unturned to heat up the space in the new compact premium sedan segment which is already occupied by cars like the Mercedes Benz CLA and the Lexus CT200h.

The A3 will come with a host of options like full LED headlamps, sporty wheels ranging from 16 to 18 inches to help build up the sporty quotient of the car while adding the requisite luxury to survive in the segment. There are new inclusions on the inside as well in the form of a new driver information display that uses 3D graphics, a revised MMI system, option of three different steering wheels, sport seating and the list goes on.

The A3 sedan will be launched in the Europe ahead of the US and the three different engines that will be on duty are the 150PS 2.0L TDI, the 140PS 1.4L TFSI and the 180PS 1.8L TFSI. While the European spec cars will have both the six-speed manual transmission as well as the six- speed S tronic dual clutch setup on offer, there will be no manual option for the US market.

The A3 sedan is expected to land on Indian shores late this year or in early 2014. Here is our first drive of the A3
